Complaint / review text:
I agree with many of the other posts. When I signed up for Stamps.com, there was nothing in the text or my account creation emails to indicate that they put you on a monthly plan and will start billing you after a 'free trial'. Like others, I thought Stamps.com has an a la carte "pay as you go" system, so after my initial purchase of stamps, I paid it no mind... I was pretty shocked to start getting billed on a monthly basis.
I managed to cancel my account and get that first monthly charge refunded, but not before I jumped through a lot of hoops - including being on the phone for about 20 minutes with a CS representative who kept trying to get me not to cancel, even though I kept telling her I wanted to. Then, I actually had to dispute the charge with my CC company - it was only then that Stamps.com finally relented and refunded my money. There is also NOWHERE on their website where you can cancel your account or delete your personal info. You have to call them. Even then, I suspect that they're holding onto my personal info, even though I have requested they delete it.
A VERY shady company, and one that is not deserving of the positive adverts it gets online and in many popular podcasts.
