Complaint / review text:
I sent in 2 phones. The first wouldn't power up the other had a broken screen but still powered up.
I was quoted over the phone £89 Vat - £17.50 for phone that needed a replacement screen. But was told they needed to see the phone that wouldn't power up before a quote could be given which is fair enough
The £17.50 was the cost for collecting the phone, assessment of the cost of repairs for both phones and if I chose not to go ahead then they would be returned also by courier but if I authorised the repairs then the £17.50 would be treated as a deposit and at this stage I was happy with what I was told.
The phones were collected same day as I called Elite Phones and computers which was great. A few days went passed and no contact had been made regarding progress. I had a quick reply they said the phone that won't power up is not repairable and the broken screen phone quote was now £124 vat - £17.50. I said no to the new quote and asked for the phones to be returned.
Now they wont send the phones back until full payment has been received (£124 vat - £17.50) but why should I pay when they have not asked for authorisation to the new quote price and to be honest I can get it done cheaper else where. If they have replaced the broken screen without authorisation then surely that's their fault for not checking first. They have my e-mail address and phone number and no contact has been made.
I have told them I will get trading standards and the police involved if the phones are not returned but they just don't seem to care.
