Early last year, I applied for an ADSL line. Nothing happened, after several weeks and enquiries, I discovered that there were no lines available in my area. So as far as I was concerned it was case closed.
Imagine my surprise when I received a call from a Telkom technician on the 16th of Feb to say he was activating my ADSL line.
My excitement was short-lived though, as when I got home I discovered that the line was dead. So the following day off we go to the Telkom shop to collect the router and report the line not working.
The fault was reported and a reference number given, with an expected closeout time of 2 days. There is still no resolution of this fault. Furthermore I discovered that part of the deal with the Telkom simple uncapped package is that I should get a 3G modem and a recurring data subscription, when we went back to the Telkom shop in Alberton city, we were told that there was no stock. Funny that that fact was not mentioned when we were given the router.
So now we are signed up for a 24 month contract at R579 pm for unlimited ADSL data, 200Mb 3G data and unlimited local call on the phone, however we now had ZERO service since the 16th Feb.
