I will admit that when you have the device connected directly to your computer, you have added a few items into the mix that can have some potential issues. My setup is configured to where the it is plugged into a power strip for power and then connected to my router with a Cat5 cable.
I have been using this unit and configuration for over a year now with no issues at all. I do have a Uniden phone with answering feature on it. But as I stated not a single issue for over a year.
When trying to find a problem always take it down to barebones config. Then if it works there, start building on that until you find the issue.
