I cracked my S4 screen 6 months in to a 24 month contract and sent it off to Elite Phones and Computers for repair. They initially told me £130 but on getting the phone advised that an additional fix was needed costing £35.
I agreed to this. The phone was returned fairly promptly but after a month or so the screen began to develop blank spots, it would stop working and I began to miss calls because the screen was sometimes unresponsive. It was also unreliable for texting as sometimes the screen stopped working and wouldn't allow any text entry. I put up with this for a while then contacted Elite to see their reaction.
They said to send it back to them to evaluate. At the same time I noticed a series of spots - some kind of dust or spores under the screen. Elite now say that the phone is not covered under warranty - they keep mentioning the spores not being a warranty issue. I cannot get them to accept that the screen is faulty irrespective of the dust or whatever it is - I suspect that this is simply a symptom of a poor repair in the first place.
I would not recommend this company to anyone - they have now offered to fix for £30 as a goodwill gesture but I don't feel that I have had good value on this. I have now received my phone back and it is no better - the screen still hangs.
I think they must use poor quality/reject spares for their repairs or are simply no good at it. I would avoid them in future.
