Complaint / review text:
I detailed in another report how Autopage messed me around when I initiated a number porting to Vodacom in Nov 2014. They then kept billing me (and took the money via debit order) for Nov, Dec and Jan. I initiated a call to get this resolved and had to follow up numerously. Not once have I felt like anyone is taking this seriously. But what happened next is CRAZY!!!
Today, after following up AGAIN, I learnt that they gave my number (yes, the one I'm still using) to another client (a process called number recycling). This happened last week Thursday. Something else happened last week Thursday. My phone stopped working to MTN numbers, my wife can't call me (she's on MTN) and I'm not receiving sensitive SMSs, such as ABSA banking SMSs.
I am simply amazed at how badly Autopage is handling a matter that is provided for by law. Number porting is important as it protects the freedom of users to choose their network, it wants to stimulate competition and hopes to deliver value. It is unthinkable that Autopage ignore this important consumer right. It is unprofessional that they allow such dysfunctional processes to exist and it is infuriating that they fail to resolve this!!!
