So, for all of us that think we are safe from the clutches of the ISPs when we don't have any contracts with them think again.
On the 23rd March - apparently, I opened up a cellphone contract in Greenstone Mall. I was working in Woodmead at the time.
How I found out: got SMS for connection fee from Vodacom
What I did, I first went to the Bank, they advised me to go directly to Vodacom
I went to Vodacare in Eastgate on the 28th March (I could not go during the week as I was on training during normal working hours), there they advised me to report to SAPS, get the docket number and go back to them. I did exactly that
Vodacare told me that day that a case would be open with the team and that I would not be debited.
What happened: 29 April 2015, got my first debit of more than R1100
When I confronted Vodacom, I was told that they could not find my Bank statement that I submitted to them and that no case was opened with their team as a result. Eventually, they opened a case after I resubmitted the Bank statement a second time.
Today, I got debited again today for another R900. Looks like the only real solution here is to file a lawsuit for Thef
