I made a reservation with Cheapoair to fly round trip on China Airlines between San Diego CA and Taipei, Taiwan. After I had paid for my flight, Cheapoair changed my flights to Taipei, telling me that I had to accept the change or else my trip might be canceled. I did not like the change because it added a 10-hour layover in Honolulu, but I accepted it. I got to San Diego airport 90 minutes before my departure time. My flight from San Diego to Honolulu was a China Airlines flight, operated by Hawaiian Airlines. The Hawaiian Airlines computer said that I had a reservation but no ticket number.
A call to Cheapoair gave me my ticket number, but the Hawaiian Airlines computer did not accept that ticket number. A call to China Airlines told us that that ticket number had been assigned to the flight that was changed; Cheapoair kept the same ticket number for my revised flight, but China Airlines did not. Hawaiian Airlines personnel and I spent about an hour on the phone with Cheapoair and China Airlines without resolving the problem. The result is my plane left without me. Cheapoair has promised to give me my money back, but I would much rather be in Taipei right now.
