Was lied to on both outbound and return trips lost luggage!

Was lied to on my outbound trip on Dec 23rd and then again on the return trip on Dec 28th. On Dec 23rd I was told I couldn't check my bag in since it was less than 45 minutes to the flight leaving.

I pointed out that the flight wasn't scheduled to leave for another 52 minutes. She then said I should have been there over an hour early since" it was busy". I then said I would take my bag down to the gate and check it in there - she said I couldn't as "they don't have tags down there to do it". Huh?

Long story short I had to wait another 6 1/2 hours until the next flight because of this employees incompetence and/or dishonesty. If her intelligence matched her attitude she would be the next Einstein. On the return on the 28th I checked in at 10:30 for a 12:00 flight. When the flight landed in Atl at 2:18 we went down to pick up our bags.

Most of the passengers got their bags within 45 minutes. About ten, including myself did not. Then came the stories (1) they will be here any minute, later on (2) There was a shift change at the time your flight landed and some of the bags weren't loaded (yep, they really said that), and then about 4:00 (3) we know the bags are in Atlanta, but we just can't locate them. It won't be much longer.

At about 4:15 I filled out a missing bag form (like most of the others) and was told that the bags never left Rochester and they should be here when the next flight arrives at 8:15pm. I asked - are you sure - she responded - not really that's what I was told. So I was given a reference number and a website to check. She said I needed to be at home when the bag arrived to sign for it.

When will that be - anytime tonight to the end of the next day (assuming the bag was actually found). I kept checking the website and at about 10:00 it said my bag was located, but not yet assigned a driver for delivery. I called the toll free number and was told it would definitely be delivered between 1:00 and 2:00 am, and the driver would call me when he was on the way. Well, 2:00 passed and nothing.

On the website it said it was finally assigned to a driver and it would be there before 3:00 am. There was a place to email the driver to ask when he thought he would be there. I did that and - you guessed it - no response. 3:00 passed with no phone call and any type of response.

Since I live alone I am the only one to sign for the bag. At about 5:45 I check the website and it says my bag was delivered. Huh? No phone call and the door bell didn't even ring.

I checked the door and the bag was there. I thought I had to sign for it?

Did he forge my signature? At least everything was in the bag, but Monday at work was a little rough due to the lack of sleep.
