Complaint / review text:
I'm the domestic partner of Christina Molieri who filed a complaint with Bolt bus yesterday (3/17/15). I wanted to tell you what she relayed to me about the incident with bus driver Donna Mills. She was on a 9:15am bus from NYC to Philly.
According to Christina the bus was late and it was raining outside. Donna and two male operators were outside the bus. One of the males called for the A tickets so Christina came forward with her ticket and as she tried to enter the bus the other male operator was standing and talking with Donna in front of the bus door. Christina told them she wanted to enter the bus and that they could keep talking. Donna immediately screamed at her about having an attitude and how she could see her attitude from the curb when she was parking the bus. Christina told her it was not ok to speak that way to her and got on the bus.
From her seat she could hear Donna screaming to the other operators about how this "man" shouldn't give her attitude. Christina called back that she wasn't a man and that's when Donna proceeded to laugh and call out derogatory terms referring to her gender. I believe the words were SHE-HIM, HE-SHE, SHIM and IT etc. Christina felt as though Donna was putting on a show for the passengers because she was laughing and several passengers were laughing as well. She overheard passengers saying the incident was "Funny as ".
Christina was in such shock and disbelief that she did not feel comfortable calling Bolt while she was on the bus. I called her as soon as I got her text message about the incident, at which time the driver had pulled over on the side of the highway to use the bathroom. I called the customer service number and reported her incident first.
I sincerely hope that something is done to resolve this matter. No customer should be treated this way, regardless of their gender presentation.
