I changed a hotel reservation I made through Orbitz from November 9th to November 10th. The website indicated that the change would cancel the previous reservation.
Orbitz did not cancel the earlier reservation and I was billed as a "no show." Neither the hotel nor Orbitz would refund the charge. Apparently Orbitz is a middle man in these transactions and does not manage cancellations competently. Also be aware that Orbitz charges your credit card when you make the reservation, not when you stay, as a normal hotel would.
Do not book hotels through Orbitz. Their customer service if you do have a complaint is the worst I have ever experienced.
