Complaint / review text:
I purchased my second vacation package with Westgate Resort. My vacation package was to expire on Jan. 2012. I received a call concerning my vacation package in August 2011 and was told by Westgate that my vacation was going to expire in Jan. 2012 and I was a valuable customer, etc. During the conversation, I was informed that I could extend the package for one additional year at the cost of $200.00 and if I could come to the resort during the month of May, the cost to waive the $200.00 extension fee would be $29.99. I asked if something were to come up if I could reschedule the visit to the resort. I was told that I could cancel or change my May date one time if it were done within 30 days of the visit.
I called two months before my scheduled visit to reschedule and was told that I would have to pay an additional $200.00 to reschedule my visit due to the fact that the promotion was over. What promotion? It would seem to me that they would honor the fact that I was told that if needed, I could change or cancel one time. That was the selling point for me. Now they want an additional $200.00 after I have paid the cost of the vacation pack and the waiver fee.
