We decided to bundle my phone, internet and cable to save some money. Unfortunately, DirectTV couldn't match the cost of the provider.
So I called DirectTV to see if there would be a cancellation fee. The customer service rep so no, we were long time members. Received a bill for the cancellation fee (3/19/12). Called customer service again.
DirectTV rep (Nelly Ext 100582511) said that would be removed once we returned the equipment. We had just received the packaging material, so we returned the equipment. Yesterday (4/4/12), they took $440 out of our account. So of course we called DirectTV again, talked to a customer service rep then asked to speak to a manager who told us the other people we spoke to were in error and he apologized but we were under contract and there was nothing he could do.
Doesn't DirectTV hold their employees accountable for the information they provide? We cannot afford $440 to be taken out of account.
A word to the wise, be careful before you decide to get service from DirectTV. Their customer service stinks!
